The Swarthmore Recreation Association's U9 boys' travel team, coached by Keith Peltzman of Swarthmore and Dominic D’Andrea of Wallingford, went on the road recently to play their counterparts from Chester-Upland Youth Soccer. A great time was had by all, and future rematches are in the works.

The home team is trained through the transformational Soccer for Success program, which is supported by the US Soccer Foundation, the Foundation for Delaware County, other area organizations and many generous individuals.
Brendan Grady, Executive Director of Chester-Upland Youth Soccer, welcomes all area teams to get in touch with him to schedule matches and further support the 550 elementary and middle school students currently served by the program. This school year, CUYS was able to provide soccer training, nutrition education and mentorship at ten sites in the underserved Chester-Upland community for 90 minutes at least three days a week during the program’s fall and spring seasons. Recognizing that the hours immediately after school are the most dangerous period for juveniles to both commit and be victims of crime, the organization hopes to grow its reach for the 2020 season and beyond.
