Partnership with Mitzvah Circle Brings Diaper and Toiletry Donations to Chester

Imagine the cost of 5,397 diapers, 1,152 pads, 43 boxes of wipes, 156 toiletries and 130 books. Now consider that CUYS families have received all that for free, thanks to a partnership with a remarkable local organization called Mitzvah Circle.

Mitzvah Circle's mission is to serve families walking along life’s edge by providing over 100 products including clothing, diapers, new strollers and car seats, toiletries, household items and other necessities. The organization hand-selects worthy local organizations and invites them to its Norristown facility to pick up useful donations for the communities served.

Lisa Wilson has driven to Norristown to pick up the last few rounds of donations and helped distribute them to families at Chester Charter Scholars Academy, one of CUYS' five current partner schools. "Families are so grateful," Ms. Wilson remarked.

CUYS just re-engaged with Mitzvah Circle for the 2022 calendar year, so even more of these important donations will be coming to Chester in the months to come.

According to Zack Biro of Mitzvah Circle, “Last year, Mitzvah Circle helped over 97,000 people in crisis and this was made possible by the amazing work done by our partners.

CUYS greatly appreciates that its valuable connection with Mitzvah Circle was suggested by the extraordinarily helpful and thoughtful team at The Community's Foundation and its community-advised fund, Project W.

Heather Finnegan, President of The Community's Foundation (TCF) remarked, "We love serving as a community connector. As a community foundation, we are in a unique position, because most of the non-profits that serve Delaware County apply to TCF for grants. So, our team has an encyclopedic knowledge of each organization's needs - and of which organizations may be well suited to partner. When partnerships flourish, the community wins."
