CUYS Helps Welcome Students Back into CUSD School Buildings

Chester Upland Youth Soccer representatives joined CUSD Superintendent Dr. Carol Birks and members of her team as well as volunteers from Chester Boys & Girls Club, the Philadelphia Union and other organizations welcoming students back into Chester Upland School District buildings for the first time since March 2020.

Volunteers generated a celebratory environment outside doorways while handing out masks and treats, and helped to maintain six-foot distances between children as they awaited requisite temperature checks.

Later, Dr. Birks posted on LinkedIn, “Thank you Chester Upland Youth Soccer and all our community partners for your support, commitment and service to our Learning Community. I am honored to serve the families of Chester Upland with you.”
