Union Watch Party Fundraiser is a Win For All
CUYS supporters safely gathered in the Larimer Brewery's beautiful indoor/outdoor space to cheer on the Philadelphia Union in a CONCACAF Champions League match on April 7.
The Union emerged with a 1-0 win, and Chester Upland Youth Soccer emerged with nearly $1,000 raised through the event.
Anyone wishing to contribute can still do so at https://donorbox.org/concacaf-watch-party Funds will be used to help provide Chester children with opportunities to play soccer and engage in other fun and much-needed physical activity under the leadership of trained Coach-Mentors this summer and beyond.
Esteemed guests at the event included Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon and Senator Tim Kearney, who is a founding member of the "Sons of Benjamin West" Union fan club that was well-represented among watch party attendees.
Another dignitary at the party was Ola Solanke, who owns the Chester block on which the Larimer is located and has great things planned for the high-potential waterfront space. Check out his compelling writings at https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/chester-reimagined-ola-solanke/
Thanks to Matt Ralph of https://www.brotherlygame.com/ each attendee was able to bring home a poster commemorating the Union's historic CONCACAF appearance.
Future Union watch parties are scheduled for Sunday, May 23 at 7pm and Saturday, June 26 at 8pm at the Larimer, 15 Engle St G Unit, Chester, PA 19013.
