Summer Soccer and Referee Training Schedule Announced
Chester Upland Youth Soccer is partnering with a variety of coaches and supportive mentoring organizations to bring soccer to hundreds of children this summer, plus referee training for all interested aged 14+.
Ms. Jackson and Coach Tiaira of Main Street Elementary are running their popular Zoom Soccer Challenges every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-5pm. Request access here.
For the second consecutive year, CUYS is partnering with Making a Change Group for its summer fun. Its Level Up Festival, a family-friendly event, will take place on Sunday, July 31 from 3-7pm in Chester Park. All are welcome for a variety of fun events including soccer.
CUYS will also host two Soccer Saturdays in July, in partnership with groups offering other worthwhile outdoor experiences:
July 9, 10-11am at Chester Park, 172 E Elkington Blvd., Chester followed by Kung Fu with Grant’s Kung Fu Academy from 11am-11pm. (Enter the park on the 2500 block of Edgmont. Go past the stop sign and park near the tennis court. )
July 30, 3-4pm at Chester Park, 172 E Elkington Blvd., Chester following Skate in the Park from 1-3pm. (Enter the park on the 2500 block of Edgmont. Go past the stop sign and park near the tennis court. )

Those looking to add to their skill set and their income will be interested to know that CUYS is also partnering with Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer to host a referee training clinic on August 20, 10am-2pm at Chester Park, 208 Ridley Dr, Wallingford. Anyone aged 14+ can earn qualification and begin getting paid to referee games, but registration is required.
CUYS programming will also take place at the following locations in connection with camps that require pre-registration:
Wednesdays from July 6 - August 10 at the Chester Apartments’ Better Tomorrows camp
Wednesdays from June 22- August 10 at Harris Elementary in Collingdale
Thursdays from June 30-July 28 at Chester Charter Scholars Academy
Thursdays from July 7 - August 11 at Chester Boys & Girls Club
CUYS' summer staff has been augmented to include Coach Micah and Coach Bristol from The Player Project, an organization dedicated to impact and transform the lives of those in need through sport.
Coach Micah commented, "We're so grateful to work with CUYS and all they are doing for the children and families of Chester through soccer. Moreover, we're excited for what the future holds to grow the beautiful game for everyone of all backgrounds."
