Summer Soccer Kicks Off

Chester Upland Youth Soccer has a robust history of partnering with like-minded organizations to help increase access to wellness throughout the Greater Chester community.

This trend continues for the summer of 2023, as CUYS has been invited to once again contribute an active, fun soccer training component to a variety of area camps.

This week, Coach-Mentors MG and Nico started the rounds at Harris Elementary in a partnership with KnowledgePoints that has been in place since 2021. Coach MG remarked, “The kids were super excited about playing soccer, and very positive!”

In the coming weeks, these and other Coach-Mentors will begin leading sessions at Chester Charter Scholars Academy, the Boys & Girls Club of Chester and the Better Tomorrows program at the Chester Apartments. In many of those locations, CUYS’ sister organization, Youth Development United, is also helping to bring its beloved Kung fu instructor Sifu Fred Grant to teach his craft to the children.

Area children are also invited to attend a range of free activities separate from those summer programs, including Soccer Saturdays with the SWAG League, Kung fu lessons, mini golf, ballet and a 4-H nature club/soccer camp being held at Main Street Elementary.
