CUYS and Ridley United Soccer Present Scholarships

Chester Upland Youth Soccer is grateful to Ridley United Soccer Club and its president and 2019 Andrew W. MacMurtrie Sportsperson of the Year, Chuck Catania, for once again providing scholarships for a select number of CUYS players who want to add more training and game experience to their soccer regimen.

CUYS’s after-school Soccer for Success curriculum, provided by the US Soccer Foundation, teaches soccer fundamentals alongside critical social, emotional, and life skills. CUYS partners with other area clubs to connect dedicated soccer players with advanced opportunities.

Mohammad and Majid are brothers who have recently completed a season on scholarship with Ridley. Their father, Hicham, shared, “My children have expressed a keen interest in joining a soccer team, and as a parent, I am eager to provide them with such valuable opportunities. However, as a family on a tight budget, we are currently facing financial constraints that limits our ability to enroll our children in extracurricular activities. I truly believe that participating in a soccer program greatly benefits my children, and I appreciate that you make this opportunity accessible to them. I would like to thank you all for your help and your efforts dedicated to the community and youth.”
